| Morlock (1.0) - File Description |
 |
Description: Welcome to Morlock.
This map is inspired by George Pal's 1960 Movie version of H.G. Wells' book 'The Time Machine'. Morlock contains 2 maps: 1 for TDM Multiplayer only; and 1 for Single Player/Skirmish.
The main Mission Objective for the Single Player Mode is to locate the Exosuit and return with it to the location next to the parked truck in the canyon. To achieve this goal you will need to navigate all locations in the map and negotiate various barriers that bar your progress to return to the Earth's surface. A lot of additional details ahve been added in t he form of gates and switches. Don't forget to grab the Exosuit on your way out.

---------------------
MULTIPLAYER
-----------
The Multiplayer Map has Marines and Mercs starting on the sunlit surface of the Earth in a lightly forested canyon; while Preds and Aliens take on the titular role of being the underground dwelling man-eating 'Morlocks'. Preds spawn in the ancient underground citadel. Aliens start in the lowest chthonic level of the map, surrounded by spiked walls and a ring of boiling lava. Various ladders, ramps, stairways, caves and tunnels link the locations together.
SINGLE PLAYER
-------------
There are 2 ways you can approach the Single Player version of this map:
1). Objective-Based Single Player Mode with a clear end goal.
2). Run 'n' gun free-form Skirmish.
For Skirmish play, ignore the various Objectives present in the map and just go ballistic; run around the subterranean area of the map killing all the Bugs you can.
Single Player Mode and Skirmish both support 'Easy', 'Medium' and 'Hard' Difficulty Levels of gameplay and are chosen by the player when the map starts:
Easy - Less Aliens and More Ammo boxes are present.
Medium - More Aliens and the same amount of Ammo boxes are present as 'Easy'.
Hard - More Aliens than 'Medium'; but with less Ammo boxes. Also, certain Objectives in 'Hard' have been relocated.
To select a difficulty level, locate an appropriately marked signpost and open the Ammo box adjacent to it. The nearby flue grate will open and you can then descend into Morlock proper. Opening a difficulty level Ammo box of your choice will render the other 2 Difficulty choices unavailable. Yeah, it took me a while to work all of this stuff out - and it may not be perfect - but it seems to work adequately.
No Eloi were eaten during the making of this map.
