[TDS] Pods (1.1) - File Description  


Description:
The level:
overrun mode: the human weapons are up top where the "defender" spawn points are, so i would reccomend that u do not put the humans as the attackers (with class weapons off) or they wont have any gunz.
likewise the pred weapons are down the bottom round the "attacker" spawns.

evac mode:
the evacuees start down the bottom of the pod, and have to try and get up to the top and into the elevator (in real life it would probably be the other way around, but it would be too easy for the evacuees, they could just jump straight into the evac lol).
the attackers start at the top, near the lift. pred weapons are up top and rine down bottom. also, one of the panels on the 3rd level controls the opening/shutting of the lift. try and get a teammate to open/close it at the right time.
also, when an anyone goes into the lift, it will auto-shut. only an alien or pred may escape (via the openable roof, so pred only if its closed), unless the doors are opened again by the switch.
of course, if you are evacing, this will (hopefully) help you to survive, just keep an eye on the roof... winkwink

evac and overrun mode:
another of the switches controls the opening and closing of alternate sets of ladders. to aid the defenders in overrun, or the attackers in evac, these may be shut off to help stop the enemy advance.
however, if someone manages to get up to this point (via a semi-secret route i built), then they may open some of the ladders to let their friends through.

ALL MODES:
the final switch is the same as it is in sp mode, it triggers the crate-carrying arm.
if a teammate climbs onto the crate from the bottom or lower level, then by hitting this switch the arm takes them straight up to the lift, so watch out defenders(over)/attackers(evac)/or anyone up there lol

final note: because, partially because of my clans rules, and partially because of how i feel about them, you will find no disk, smartgun, pred pistol or tracking rockets in this level.

[TDS] Pods (1.1) - Readme  
Readme File:
Name of levels: TDS_dm_pod (deathmatch version), TDS_over_pod (overrun version) and TDS_evac_pod (the evac version)

Version: 1

Release Date: 31 December 2003

Game types: the usual deathmatch, hunt, survivor etc for the dm version, but with the overrun and evac ones u can play any multiplayer mode!

Ppl who made it: [TDS]Claws n Jaws (clan mapmaker) and also some ppl who made avp2 in the first place (i used a sample level as a base)

Previous levels by same mapper: dm_warzone, TDS_training

Included files: TDS pods readme (this), TDS_pods.rez with the .dat (level) files inside

Construction:


Program used: Dedit

Base for level: "sample pred.ed" or the 2nd part of the 3rd predator level if u have played the sp campaign, the one where u gotta go into the pods to help ur clan

Construction time: more like de-construction time, most of the stuff i did was like removing keyframers and ai etc, then i put in like the spawners etc. anyways about 3 days

Processing time: dm version: 183.47 mins (3 and a bit hours), overrun version: 181.31 mins, evac version: 179.39 mins

Known bugs: none (as usual, u spot any, lemme know so i can fix em, email below)

How to install:
Go to your main avp2 directory where it is installed (default is: C:\Program Files\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2), once there make a folder called "custom" and place the TDS_pods.rez file in there.
Now start up avp2 and when the launcher comes up click options.
In the "command line" area, type in this: "-rez custom/tds_pods.rez" (without quotes duh). Also check the box "always specify these command line parameters" so you dont have to type it in everytime you want to play it.
Now click play and when you get to the main screen click on either "multiplayer lan" or "multiplayer internet" then "host game". Look at the maps section and if you see a TDS pod level there you did it right. Now go and play on them!
